Pioneer Celebration
We were in Snowflake over the weekend to for their pioneer days festivities. It was such a fun trip. On the way there we went thru Flagstaff and hiked the Lava tube. We had a great time. The kids LOVED getting to hold their own flashlights. I was nervous on the climb into the tunnel because the rocks were so sharp and slippery, but it was just me being a worry wart. They did great. I can't wait to do that again sometime--so fun!
When we got to Snowflake, my mom had spud nuts ready for the kids to frost. They loved it. They also got a practice ride in Uncle Nolan's trash can train and loved it. On Saturday they got to ride in the train for the parade and had SO MUCH FUN! After the parade they played hard with cousins and got to ride the horse with Abbie. Later that night we watched the fireworks. So nice to get away....good times

Happy Birthday Isaac
Back to blogging hopefully....
This is late, but again, humongous computer issues...
Happy birthday Isaac! He turned 5 this year. I can't believe he'll be in kindergarten in a few weeks. His b-day was really fun. Donuts for breakfast and presents. Hot dogs for lunch. Chuck e Cheese for dinner with Eldon and Stefani. So fun!!! Here are some fun facts about Isaac
1. He LOVES cool whip. He wanted a big bowl of it instead of a birthday cake, but we compromised and I put a whole bowl of it on his birthday cake.
2. He is a green belt in Karate.
3. He knows WAY more than me about super heroes and there powers etc.
4. He pronounces the word "nostril" with a short "a" sound instead of the short "o" sound....try it, it sounds so funny.
5. He is an excellent bike rider.
6. He cleans his room without being asked on many occasions.
7. He can read CVC words and a lot of the high frequency words.
8. He likes being brave. He's good at protecting me when both of us are creeped out by the unidentified fury thing in the scary part of our backyard. (no worries btw, it was an old rug someone threw over the fence) :)
9. He LOVES sushi. Anytime we are in Safeway he begs me to get some. More often than not I do and then he makes sure to time it so that he gets at least the last two of them.
10. My favorite...Isaac seriously has the faith to move mountains. Anytime he hears news that seems prayer worthy to him he will go into his room and pray about it. So many times he has asked if one of us or another extended family member or friend is doing better, and when I tell him yes he says he knew they would be because he was praying for them. {LOVE IT!!!!}
Just for fun....We let the kids have soda over the 4th of July weekend. I overheard Isaac talking to Grant about root beer. First of all he pronounces it root BEAR. He was trying to figure out if root beer is made of roots, bears, or roots and bears. Hmmmmmm the world may never know! lol
